Hello PV Families,
We have successfully and joyfully completed our first full week of school! Our students are continuing to build community, get to know one another, and create class charters that reflect how they want to be treated and how they want others to feel. At the same time, they are diving into their curriculum with enthusiasm.
Our staff also engaged in professional learning during our first Early Release Wednesday. Sessions included deepening our work with the San Francisco Math curriculum, exploring student behavior through Book Study, and expanding our tech integration skills with Canva training, among others.
We held our first unannounced fire drill. These drills are required and essential to ensuring the safety of all staff and students. We will continue to practice regularly so that everyone feels confident and prepared.
Open House was another highlight of the week! It was wonderful to welcome families into the building and strengthen our partnership with you. A special thank you goes to our PTO for presenting during the evening, recruiting room parents and future board members, and kicking off our main fundraiser of the year—the Walkathon. Our target is at least $25,000, and I know together we can achieve it. Please check out the PTO link below for more information on all things PTO—from November’s Bingo Night fundraiser for our 5th-grade class (the PV Class of 2033), to Spirit Week, and more. There are so many ways to get involved and contribute to our students’ experience here at PV.
As we head into another full week ahead, I encourage you to take full advantage of this beautiful weather, enjoy time with your children, and return ready for another week of learning on Monday at 8:55 AM.
Have a wonderful weekend!
PS. Enjoy the photos from the first week below.
Graciously,
Esther & Jenna
