Dear PV Families,
We had a great week at PV and are excited to share updates, reminders, and upcoming events. Thank you for your continued support in making our school a place where every student experiences excellence and belonging.
📚 After-School Program -Sign up here
  • Begins the third week of October.
  • Open to grades 1–5.
  • Runs in three identical sessions – please sign up for only one.
  • If your child is not selected in the first lottery, they may apply again for the next session.
  • A new Google Form will be sent out for each session.
  • Enrollment determined by lottery due to high demand.
  • Current form closes Friday, September 26.

🏃 Walkathon Fundraiser -Register here
  • Goal: $25,000 (about $40 per student).
  • If we reach our goal, PTO will rent the SW Arena on Jan. 2 for a free family skate night!
  • Prizes include: front-row seats at 5th grade graduation, “Name the School” for a day, locker decorating, indoor recess items, and more.
Highlights so far:
  • Top Fundraisers:
  • Week of 9/8: Jack Hollman (Ms. Devlin’s 1st grade)
  • Week of 9/15: Harper Caruso (Mrs. Augustyn’s 4th grade)
  • Prize: choose a morning announcement song, name the school for a day, indoor recess reward for the class.
  • First Class with 100% Registration:
  • Mrs. Clauson’s 1st grade → earned a popcorn party in the courtyard with our mascot, Popcorn.
  • Any class reaching 100% registration earns this prize!
🎉 Bingo Night -Volunteer Sign Up here
  • Takes place right after the Walkathon.
  • Families and staff are encouraged to volunteer.
  • Fun & visible roles for staff include Bingo Caller and Raffle Ticket Seller.

  • Girls on the Run-Grade 5 only. Registration closes Oct 10th. Cost $175
  • Walkathon Event – October 10 (during recess, 11:00–2:30 on our fields). Volunteers welcome!
  • Bingo Night – right after the Walkathon.
  • Book Fair – October 14–17 (Family Night: October 17 6-8pm).
  • Picture Day – October 27 & 28.
  • Instrumental Music Open House Oct 29th, grade 4 and 5 families only.

Walkathon

30% to our Walkathon Goal! Volunteers Need to Help at all Walkathon Waves (especially Grades 1 and 2)!

We are making solid progress towards our $25,000 school-wide fundraising goal. With 22 days left until the PV Walkathon, we have raised over $8000 and have 23% of students registered. With your continued support we can achieve our goal!

Congrats to Mrs. Clauson's class for earning a Popcorn Party for being the first class with 100% of students registered for the Walkathon. Additional classes to reach 100% can earn extra recess or a spirit day of their choice, so keep registering!

One week left for our PV Spirit Gear Sale, Order by September 25th :

The Scholastic Book Fair is coming! Volunteers Needed!

Attendance

If your child is going to be absent, please log in to your Parent Portal and fill out the Attendance Monitor prior to the start of the day. It is very important that the office be aware of your child's absence. Attendance Monitor instructions can be found under Helpful Links, below.

If you would like to pick your child up early, please email both Mrs. Brown & Mrs. Strom or call the office at 860-610-0291.

Dropping off Items for Your Student

If you need to drop off items for your child during the school day, you will be asked to leave them in the vestibule outside the main office. Please be sure to write your child's name and teacher's name on the items and notify your teach via parentsquare or email that they have been dropped off.
