Happy Friday!
Math Night is scheduled for January 28th from 6:00–7:00 PM and is open to all grade levels. Please be sure to review the updated flyer, which includes a snow date.
Planning is underway for our Cultural / Global Play Day in March! This will be a community-wide event with opportunities for everyone to contribute. Students will be coming home with a project to work on in preparation, and families will receive a sign-up form to volunteer throughout the day. We are currently exploring a holiday-fair or walkathon-style format and will continue to share updates as plans develop.
Our Spirit Gear Sale is currently underway. Please use the link below to place your order, and consider supporting PV by purchasing one (or two!) items to proudly show your PV Pride.
We are also excited to share that we will be hosting two author visits this year. The first will take place in February for students in grades K–2, followed by a district-wide author visit in March. More details will be shared in upcoming newsletters and by your child’s classroom teacher in the coming weeks.
This is also a reminder that we will be piloting a hybrid PTO meeting. The meeting will take place in person at PV in the Library Media Center, with a virtual option available. Childcare will be provided, along with cookies, cupcakes, and hot beverages. Please be sure to RSVP using the link below so we can plan accordingly for refreshments.
This will also be a great opportunity to learn more about running for the PTO Board, as we are currently recruiting for the positions of President, Vice President, and Secretary.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We wish you a wonderful weekend!

Graciously,
Esther & Jenna

Library Corner

Dear Families,
Our new PV Library has become such a vibrant hub for our K–5 readers. We are making great progress in finding the overdue and missing books!
To keep our shelves stocked with the stories our students love, I’m asking every student and family to put on their Detective Hat this weekend.
WE’VE MADE GREAT PROGRESS!
We are currently LOOKING for 827 more titles:
  • 323 Overdue books
  • 504 Lost books (specifically those “lost” since the new PV building opened)
Where to Look
Please help your child scour those common hiding spots:
  • Backpacks and lockers
  • Classroom desks
  • Car seat pockets
  • Home bookshelves (hiding among personal collections!)
A Quick Refresher
  • Overdue: Books are marked overdue 3 weeks after checkout.
  • Lost: Books transition to "lost" status after 3 months.
If a Book has "Gone on Vacation"
We understand that sometimes books truly vanish! If a book cannot be found, we ask for your help in replacing it so other students don't miss out. You can:
  1. Purchase a new copy of the same title for the library.
  2. Send a check for the replacement cost (payable to South Windsor Public Schools).
  3. Send in cash for the replacement cost.
A receipt will be emailed to you for any payments received.
Thank you for being such a supportive part of our reading community.
Happy searching, detectives!
Cheers,
Heather
