Dear PV Families,
Another week has come to a successful close here at PV. We ended the week with our May student assembly where the entire building got a chance to be together as we prepare to enter the last month of the school year. It was wonderful to see the energy and unity in the room as we celebrated our students' hard work and looked ahead to a busy, exciting June!
We have so many incredible highlights and celebrations from across our community this week:
  • Senior Guest Readers: A special thank you to our senior citizens for volunteering to read to the next generation during their annual visit!
  • 4th Grade Bike Safety: A huge shout-out to Mr. Giordano for another successful bike unit. All of our 4th-grade students learned essential bike safety, and we are so proud of those who learned to ride independently for the very first time!
  • Boys Running Club: Our runners participated in the HMF FitKids run this past Wednesday and had the distinct honor of leading the Pledge of Allegiance before the race. Special thanks to their dedicated coaches: Mr. Worth, Mr. Dwyer, Mr. Hochfeld, and Mr. Hauser.
  • Yard Goats Game & Family Hike: As usual, PV showed up in great numbers to cheer on the Yard Goats, and our May PV Family Hike was a wonderful success. Thank you to everyone who came out!
  • Spring Concert: The 4th and 5th-grade concert was a beautiful showcase of what our students have learned over the last one to two years. Thank you to Ms. Thompson, Mrs. Cohen, and Mrs. Roman for their hard work with this program and event.
  • Welcoming Our Newest Panthers: We welcomed the first half of our upcoming Kindergarten cohort (Class of 2039!) on Wednesday and are looking forward to meeting the rest. If you have a future kindergartener and haven’t registered or signed up for a classroom visit yet, I highly encourage you to do so.

Finally, as we head into the long weekend, please remember that Monday is not just a day off or a holiday; it is a day for us to honor, commemorate, and remember our fallen heroes—the ones who paid the ultimate sacrifice so that we may enjoy the freedoms we have as Americans.

I leave you with this meaningful quote:
“Memorial Day reminds us that freedom is never free. As we head into the holiday weekend, may we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage and dedication continue to inspire us, and we are forever grateful for the freedoms they fought to protect. Our nation owes a debt to its fallen heroes that we can never fully repay."

Thank you for your continued partnership and support.

Excellence and Belonging—Every Student, Every Day!
