Dear PV Families,

Thank you for your continued support of Pleasant Valley and for being such a wonderful audience for our students' hard work this week! It was incredible to see our community come together for both the 5th Grade Genius Hour presentations and the PV Portrait Gallery Walk. Both events gave our students a fantastic opportunity to truly shine, and we are so proud of their creativity and dedication.

We also want to extend a huge thank you to Officer Korchari from the South Windsor Police Department, who spoke to our 4th and 5th graders about online etiquette and digital safety this week. It was an incredibly valuable and timely presentation for our oldest students.

A special shout-out goes to our amazing Girls on the Run team for their inspiring Community Impact Project! Thanks to the incredible generosity of everyone who brought in supplies, our girls were able to pack and donate several bags of essential items to the Department of Children and Families (DCF) this afternoon. Thank you for supporting their efforts to give back and make a difference in our community!

As we head into these final weeks of school, here are some important updates on our upcoming end-of-year events:
  • The end-of-year fun begins tonight from 6:00–8:30 PM with our 5th Grade Movie Night! A special thank you to Lindsay Ruszczyk for securing a generous pizza donation from Wooster Street Pizza for our 5th graders. We are grateful to both Lindsay and Wooster Street Pizza for helping make this event extra special for our students.
  • Final PV Family Hike (Sunday, June 7th): Join us this Sunday at 2:00 PM for our final family hike of the school year. It’s a wonderful way to connect out on the trail!
  • 5th Grade Promotion Ceremony (Wednesday, June 10th): We look forward to celebrating our graduates from 10:00–11:30 AM. Please note that overflow parking will be available at the neighboring church.
  • Field Day (Friday, June 12th): Thanks to our wonderful PE teacher, we are all set for Field Day from 9:30 AM–3:30 PM! We will be wrapping up the celebration on our back field with our traditional "Rainbow Picture," and we want to give a special shout-out to the South Windsor Police Department for their help in making that aerial photo happen.
Check out the grade-level color chart and flyers displayed below!

At last night’s PTO Board meeting, elections were held, and we are grateful to have a fully staffed board for next year.
A heartfelt thank you to our outgoing board members, Purva, Lindsay, and Pranav, for their dedication and service to our students, staff, and school community. Though everyone is busy, they made time to serve PV, and they served us well.
Thank you also to our committee leads and volunteers. Our PTO could not support a school of our size without your time, leadership, and generosity.

I look forward to introducing our new PTO Board members in next week’s newsletter. Once again, thank you.
Have a great weekend.
